Microsoft and Xbox continue to focus on making consumer-friendly decisions, ranging from the inclusion of day & date exclusives launching on their Game Pass service, to investing in future first party exclusives by purchasing new more studios while also internally opening more studios as well; and it looks like the announcements aren’t done yet.

In a tweet from the official Xbox Twitter account, Microsoft and Xbox plan to give a special announcement tonight, December 6th, at the Game Awards 2018. The company specifically says to tune into Mixer to stream the event, but there is no confirmation on if fans will be receiving exclusive in-game content for doing so, which ahs previously been the case. This news is coming off the heels of showcase creator Geoff Keighley announcing that Mcirosoft VP of gaming, Phil Spencer, will be at the Game Awards in a presenter role.

Fans have began speculating what the announcement could be, and rumors have ranged from either a possible studio acquisition or unannounced game reveal, to something as realistic of as the Winter of Arcade game list or an release date reveal for the upcoming platforming sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps. No confirmation has been made by either the company or the showcase as to what the announcement will be, but we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

The Game Awards 2018 are set to air live tonight, December 6th, at 9 PM EST/6 PM PST. For more information on how to watch, please visit the show’s official website.
