This Thursday’s Game Awards show is shaping up to not only be a special night to recognize the past year in gaming, but also to see what the future of the industry has in store; and now we have confirmation of another world premiere gameplay preview that is planned to take place.

In a tweet from Panache Digital Games, the studio confirms that they will be premiering an exclusive first look at their upcoming title ‘Ancestors: the Humankind Odyssey’ live at the Game Awards 2018 on December 6th. “It’s now time for Ancestors to come out of the shadows”, the studio wrote. “Watch the Game Awards this Thursday and tune into GameSpot’s livestream after the show for an extended gameplay session with director Patrice Desilets.”

The project, which was first teased at E3 2015, is set to be a third person open world survival game that will bring players to “explore, expand and evolve” to advance their clan to the next generation in the harsh, ruthless, yet beautiful land of Africa starting 10 million years ago, per the studios website. While information on the project has been kept internally for the most part, the independent studio is sure to provide fans and industry members more details on the project, with an exclusive look at gameplay footage following the show. Ancestors: the Humankind Odyssey will be the debut project for Panache Digital Games, with director Patrice Desilets bringing a plethora of experience in AAA gaming (Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia) to the development process. We will continue to update this story as more information is given.
