RUMOR: WB Games Montreal Could Be Showing New DC Game to Press

WB Game Montreal, who are responsible for the prequel entry to the Batman Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins, has been quite silent since releasing their 2013 title. Since then, rumors have circled around the WB Games studio and the possibility of multiple DC IPs, including some within the Batman universe, a Superman game, and an all-but-confirmed Suicide Squad, but nothing ever came to be officially announced or confirmed. But all of that may change relatively soon, with some possible information leaking to forums and social media.

As first discovered by ResetEra user “est1992”, WB Games Montreal may in fact be starting to give press and influencers first views of an upcoming project they are working on. The user also reported on a few different tidbits of info regarding the studio, including a recent interview with Senior Game Designer at WB Studios Montreal, Osama Dorias, in which he let leak that the company is developing two open world DC Universe games. Now, he/she seems to have found a few more clouds of smoke surround this possible metaphoric fire.

In a tweet posted by content creator UnRoolie (the first tweet posted below), it shows him wear a beanie with the WB Games Montreal insignia embroidered on it, while also captioning the photo saying “Redacted”.

Now, what makes this interesting is actually the caption, in which not only has WB Games Montreal used before, but also developer of the acclaimed main-line Batman Arkham series, RockSteady Studios. Pat Redding, Creative Director at WB Games Montreal used the term “Redacted” when the company announced they had hired a new Senior Producer for Project “Redacted” (First tweet). Rocksteady then mentioned the same phrasing in a simple response regarding E3 2017 and their presence at the showcase, by simple stating “[REDACTED]”.

It may all be coincidence, but where there’s smoke there’s a solid chance of at least seeing a flame being kindled. With the Game Awards becoming a hotbed for announcements, it could make you wonder if we get any word on another DC adventure in the works.
